Mahoney Exposes Unethical Prosecutor

Assistant District Attorney Rene Dupuis, a judicial nominee, is under fire for her unsettling and unethical prosecutorial tactics against Christina Martin -- the nationally dubbed "Jell-O Murderer." Questioned by a member of the Governor's Council reviewing Dupuis’ nomination, Mahoney detailed Dupuis’ despicable and unsavory tactics to secure a 1st degree murder conviction against Martin. At trial, Dupuis contended that Martin poisoned the deceased with LSD. Nevertheless, Dupuis withheld from trial counsel that the State Crime Laboratory: 1) despite repeated attempts with a Gas-Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry test found no trace of LSD in the deceased's biological samples; and, 2) learned that the RIA test which had "detected" extremely high amounts of LSD in those samples had misread embalming fluid for LSD. Not only did Dupuis withhold exculpatory evidence from the defense attorney, she went ahead and presented the RIA evidence at trial without disclosing to the jury that the results were incorrect. Later, Mahoney explained Dupuis' unethical conduct to the Boston Herald.
